This Month's Commission
May 23, 2009
This month I would like to commission three jobs:
A set of medieval peasant villagers. I need this bad because I find it hard to motivate myself to work on cut scenes using my own crappy monocolor characters. I want 4 or 5 characters for starters.
- Low poly, low detail. This game does not aim to be visually stunning, but it does aim to be just realistic-looking enough not to be mistaken for a cartoon. I just want a little tattering here, a little wrinkling there. Not intricate patterns and details.
- Texturing is required.
- Rigging would be nice, but not necessary. I suspect there might be some issues exporting rigging in a format I can import, so it might be moot.
- Animation and different levels of detail not required.
- I don't need a high level of detail in the face. Only larger features such as noses, ears, and cheeks should be modeled with polygons. Eyes and mouths should be textured.
- This game is a comedy, so it should be fairly upbeat as opposed to gloomy-looking.
Improve existing models. I need someone to jazz up the plain-looking scenery a bit, make it a little prettier, more realistic, and more detailed.
- As with the characters, scenery should be low poly, low detail (but not no detail), and fairly upbeat in mood.
I need texture applied to a few character models (including our hero, Kai).
Still working on it
May 9, 2009
Despite the long time between updates I am still working on the game; in fact I've updated the help wanted section and am about to commission some artwork. Game development had gone through a little lull due to the circumstances of my life (unemployment and relocation). However, I am now settled in Southern California with a day job, so game development continues.
